LEEDS LOVE PARADE
Radio 1's mock-up of Berlin's genuine item took place last weekend in a dreary Roundhay Park, Leeds. Still dwarfed by the real mccoy, it proclaimed itself the biggest free party the UK has ever seen. Having been banished from the streets for safety reasons, 17 floats from some of the country's choicest clubs, including Godskitchen, Slinky, and Gatecrasher, circled the park whilst the assembled revellers got down and grooved on the grass. Ministryofsound.com joined 300,000 day-trippers (clubbers and park-going duck-feeders alike) to report on the real party in the park.
Cream Fields
We walked the country lanes of Winchester for hours and caked our choicest clubbing clobber in filth at Homelands; got super-spangled and lost it (and our dictophone) on the fairground rides at Gatecrasher's Summer Soundsystem; got drizzled on at Leeds Love Parade and woke up on a northern stranger's couch...
